Global music icon Burna Boy has received prestigious recognition from the City of Boston, Massachusetts, as March 2nd is officially declared “Burna Boy Day.”
The historic proclamation celebrates the Nigerian artist’s impact on global music and culture.
Burna Boy expressed his gratitude on social media, “I feel incredibly honoured and privileged! Thank you, Boston! The goal has always been the same, to bring the world together. We are all so different but all the same! 2nd of March a.k.a Burna Boy Day.”
The Boston City Council, in its official press release, highlighted Burna Boy’s dedication to embracing his Nigerian and African identity while fusing it with contemporary sounds.
