Despite hailing from an era devoid of streaming platforms like Boomplay, which serve as a yardstick for measuring an artist’s eminence and the popularity of their songs, Lumba has defied the odds by amassing impressive numbers since his song was uploaded on the platform.
Tru News Report has obtained an exclusive photo of Lumba receiving a plaque from Boomplay in recognition of his outstanding achievement of garnering over 10,000,000 album streams.
Boomplay, or Boomplay Music, is an Africa-focused media streaming and download service. Developed by Transsnet Music Limited, the platform was first launched in Nigeria in 2015 by TECNO Mobile, Transsion Holdings.

These updates included a new logo, a redesigned User Interface, the introduction of a “follow” feature, and the addition of a “Buzz” feature.
The “Buzz” feature allows users to access entertainment news without having to leave the app. Boomplay Music’s dedication to providing quality music streaming services has been recognized and awarded.
In 2017, it received the prestigious ‘Best African App’ Award at the AppsAfrica Innovation Awards held in Cape Town, South Africa. Additionally, on April 14, 2017, Boomplay Music announced a partnership with TuneCore, further expanding its reach and offerings in the music industry.
