Nigerian social media figure and cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, famously known as Bobrisky, has been released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after questioning an audio clip that sparked significant controversy.
In the recording, a voice allegedly attributed to Bobrisky claims he paid a N15 million bribe to EFCC officials to escape money laundering charges.
Bobrisky was reportedly detained on Thursday night at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos while attempting to board a KLM flight to Amsterdam, with a final destination of London.

The arrest quickly became a hot topic, with Bobrisky later sharing with his followers on social media that he sustained injuries during the incident.
After his detainment in Lagos, Bobrisky was transferred to the EFCC’s Abuja headquarters, where he faced interrogation about the bribery allegations linked to the recording.
