Brother Brother hitmaker Bisa KDei has expressed his concern over certain Ghanaian promoters who are undermining the reputation of Ghanaian artists.
In an interview with Accra FM, he specifically pointed out that some promoters assert that no Ghanaian artist is capable of filling the prestigious O2 Arena, which is a direct insult to the dedicated efforts of Ghanaians.
Bisa KDei emphasized the importance of highlighting the positive aspects of our music industry to motivate others to strive for excellence. The artiste said he firmly believes that no one should belittle our their craft, as even foreign artists come to Ghana to learn from our rich musical heritage.
“There were instances where international visitors came to experience Ghanaian music but ended up being exposed to other genres instead,” he remarked. Bisa Kdei further argued that negativity from promoters discourages investment in the music industry.
“Some promoters claim that no Ghanaian artist can fill the O2 Arena, continuously undermining the efforts of Ghanaian artists,” he said. Let’s highlight the positives to inspire others to excel. No one should disparage our music because some foreign artistes even come to Ghana to learn.
Bisa Kdei emphasized the importance of promoting positivity and recognizing the achievements of Ghanaian artists on a global scale, drawing a comparison with Nigerian musicians.
He called out individuals who undermine Ghanaian music, underscoring the talent and commitment of musicians from Ghana. Additionally, he lamented the missed chance for Ghana to leverage the Year of Return campaign as a platform to spotlight the country’s music industry to an international audience.
