Blakk Rasta Returns All RTP Awards To Organisers

True to his words, Blakk Rasta has returned all the plaques he had won at the annual Radio and Television awards (RTP) over the years, and has further warned the organizers not to include him in future award programs.

The controversial radio host and Reggae musician had previously claimed that voting-based reward programs are essentially designed for the highest bidder of which he no longer wants to be part.

According to him, the voting system in the showbiz arena in Ghana is based on money rather than merit, therefore he wants all organizers of the award schemes and all other local and international entities to disqualify him from such events.

In a statement dated December 15, 2022, the 3FM host stated that he is “not proud” of the development after which he declared his intention to return all the plaques honouring his accomplishments in the media industry.

In the corresponding statement he released, the ‘Barack Obama’ hitmaker stated;

“Much as I appreciate your efforts in appreciating people, this falls short of merit and decency, I ask respectfully that you desist from nominating me in the future unless this unfortunate criterion changes to true merit awards standard,” the former Hitz FM and Class FM employee stated.

However, he indicated he had no evil intentions against the RTP Awards and would not destroy what he had built.
