Radio host and musician Blakk Rasta has criticized Wayoosi for his shifts in political allegiance, questioning his integrity and sincerity in making such decisions.
Wayoosi, whose real name is Joseph Osei, recently declared his membership with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) after previously being a staunch supporter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
While individuals have the right to change their political affiliations, Blakk Rasta expressed his disapproval of Wayoosi’s actions, suggesting that they may be motivated by personal gain.
During his ‘Black Pot’ show on 3FM in Accra, Blakk Rasta also cautioned other celebrities who openly endorse politicians for their benefit, warning them of potential consequences in the future.
“When you live in a country where people follow politicians in order to eat, it is a shame.
“Listen to what Wayoosi is saying. So you went and supported him to win elections. For that matter, you expect that he would always have time to talk to you? It is all about me me me. We have to stop this foolishness.
“You followed NAPO and helped him win. Why did you do that? For you to be able to eat or for him to be able to help the people of his constituency? It is sad that we still have those people,” he said.
In furtherance, Blakk Rasta issued a caution to fellow celebrities who align themselves with politicians solely for personal gain, emphasizing the impending consequences.
He took the opportunity to counsel them on the importance of supporting political figures discreetly and prioritizing the overall welfare of the public over individual advantages.
His statement hinges on Waayoi’s recent revelation that he distanced himself from the NPP due to Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO), the former Minister of Energy and current running mate of Dr. Bawumia, not acknowledging him after he supported the campaign for the Manhyia South MP seat years ago.
“And all the so-called celebrities who are running after politicians, your day will come. You guys will suffer.
“You can support whoever you want to support, but make it discreet.
“You come out flatly and support ABCD and FJDEV and at the end of the day you come back to us and tell us you supported them and they did not help you. Is it about you? It’s about the people,” he added.
