Veteran gospel singer Grace Ashly has asserted that Ghana’s sports sector, particularly the Black Stars, performs better whenever the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is in power.

Her statement has sparked discussions about the influence of politics on sports development in the country.

Speaking on the matter, she stated: “When the NDC is in government, many aspects of life in Ghana, especially in sports, tend to improve. Also, I have the freedom to pursue my goals for the Black Stars when the NDC is in power. Let’s pray for the NDC’s success.”

Grace Ashly is widely recognized for her contributions to Ghanaian football through inspirational and patriotic songs.

Her 2014 World Cup song ‘Yenie’ became an anthem for football fans, rallying support for the national team.

Over the years, she has released several motivational songs that have been embraced by Ghanaians during major football tournaments.

Despite her strong ties to sports music, she believes she could do more if given the platform, stating: “I am always ready to do more e songs for the Black Stars if I am given the opportunity by the leaders.”
