Dremo has released a diss track aimed at Sarkodie shortly after he (Sarkodie) dropped a new song titled Brag, in which he appeared to criticize certain Ghanaian and Nigerian artists.
Recall that Tru News Report shed light on the content of Sarkodie’s lyrics on Brag in a previous publication.
According to the words of his song, although Black Sherif and other latter-day artistes are flying and probably pose a potential threat to him musically, his position as an evergreen artiste remains unchallenged due to his exceptional skills and expertise.
Moreover, Sarkodie reflects on his journey in the industry, noting the debut of artists like Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy.
He held that despite their influence, he believes that his achievements remain unmatched. Sarkodie then goes a step further by saying he now sees Kendrick & Cole as his main competitors, demonstrating his determination to keep evolving and thriving in his musical career.
“Before Wizkid came I was already doing it. Davido started when I was improving it. Then Odogwu came through, Blacksherif to Asake, yet I’m still going. My biggest competition is Kendrick & Cole.” – Sarkodie says.
After the song gained popularity on the internet, a Nigerian supporter mentioned Dremo in it and he expressed his intention to respond to Sarkodie shortly.
In less than a day, Dremo has retaliated against Sarkodie’s ‘Brag’ with a rap diss, emphasizing to the Ghanaian artist that success is not measured by longevity but by achievements.
Furthermore, he asserted that every Nigerian and Ghanaian artist Sarkodie mentioned, including newcomer Black Sherif is doing better than him.
He also asked Sarkodie to stop tagging himself GOAT (Greatest of All Time) because most contemporary artistes have surpassed him in that regard.
Sarkodie came across Dremo’s diss on his Instagram comment section and replied by saying he has the potential but needs to work on his flow to be easily recognisable.
