Ghanaian actress Beverly Afaglo has stated that marriage and childbirth slow down the careers Beyoncé, Becca and most female celebrities.
Beverly recounted how people began to criticise her when she decided to return home early from set and events. She also said that her role was cut from later episodes of some shows after the producer contacted her to advise her that she should stay at home to care for her children.
During an interview with Accra-based Kingdom FM, she stated that several female celebrities, including Beyonce and the Ghanaian singer Becca experienced career lows when they got married.
“Look at Beyonce, because she is a big brand, her team is able to push her works when she brings something out, but we know all that this is the Beyonce we knew before marriage because being a wife and a mother affected her.
“Same with Becca, she was very loud and everywhere, but that is not happening with her now. You have colleagues you started with, they are single, so they will keep working, and then childbirth also slows you down since you can be off for a year and a half. And then by the time you get back to business, people have taken over your position,” she added.
