TV personality Berla Mundi has returned to Ghana after receiving praise for her remarkable speech at the recently concluded Global Citizen NOW event.
During an interview on TV3’s New Day show, her colleague inquired about her experience in the US and whether she encountered any power outages, known as dumsor when she left Ghana.
In response, Berla Mundi revealed that just before takeoff, there was a power outage at the Kotoka International Airport.
She added that fortunately, they were able to rely on an external power source, which also powered the aircraft’s engines.
She explained that the plane’s engines require external power sources to initiate motion.
Berla concluded by saying although the power outage occurred momentarily, it did not cause any inconvenience due to the availability of the alternative external power source she mentioned.
In April, the international organization included her in a prestigious group of global influencers using their platforms to combat extreme poverty.
The popular Ghanaian television personality joined Global Citizen as an advocate following her collaboration with the organization in Ghana and Paris last year.
A video featuring Berla Mundi alongside Vladimir Duthiers, a morning show host and news anchor at CBS, has surfaced online.
The pair was assigned the task of presenting an award to a recipient at the ongoing Global Citizen Now event, attended by world leaders and influential social figures.
Another video captured Berla Mundi with Hollywood actress Danai Gurira, who praised Berla Mundi’s stylish outfit as they prepared to take the stage.
