Ghanaian rappers Amerado and Medikal have locked horns on Twitter as the two exchanged heated words over Amerado’s bold assertion that he deserves to win the coveted Artiste of the Year award at the 2025 Ghana Music Awards.
The feud, laced with fiery claims and personal jabs, has gripped social media, drawing reactions from fans and industry players alike.
Amerado sparked the debate with a tweet that read, “Artiste of the Year conversation without Amerado under the 2024 Year of Review is an exposure of ignorance and consequently brutal to the industry and upcoming ones.”
The statement, both audacious and self-assured, immediately caught the attention of Medikal, who wasn’t shy about responding.

In a sharp rebuttal, Medikal fired back, writing, “I fi ghostwrite rap for your favourite rapper and still kill am on a song. Nobody de rap pass Medikal for Ghana I swear. And that’s why I’m the highest-paid rapper in the country too! … Beyond.”
Medikal’s response not only challenged Amerado’s claim but also positioned himself as the unrivaled king of rap in Ghana.
Amerado, not one to back down, escalated the exchange by referencing Medikal’s alleged failed New York show. “That’s right and I nor fit sell out my girl ein secrets too sia!
Tell everybody about your flopped New York show you cancelled last year. Obiaa ansi hor…..2025 who dey listen to Mia me dokono? Jon,” he tweeted, implying that Medikal’s influence and relevance are waning.
Medikal swiftly clapped back, taunting Amerado’s success and drawing a contrast between their careers. “My one show fee de clear all these beer bar shows Ananse. Al Nasar dressing room? Ah! Santaase Spiderman,” Medikal tweeted, mixing humor with scorn as he dismissed Amerado’s achievements.
The public spat has reignited discussions about the credibility and criteria for winning the Artiste of the Year award.
