NPP National Youth Organizer Salam Mustapha has strongly refuted Afua Asantewaa’s claims that she received no support from the government during her first Guinness World Record sing-a-thon attempt.
In a fiery response, Salam Mustapha labelled her claims as false, revealing that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia donated GHC 20,000, packs of Papaye food, bottled water, and soft drinks to support her team. He said the donation was made directly to Asantewaa’s husband and father.
Beyond that, he disclosed that after the event, Dr. Bawumia fully funded a vacation for Afua Asantewaa at Senchi as a gesture of appreciation for her efforts.
“We all supported her because we saw a young Ghanaian lady trying to make a mark for herself and challenge the world.
“I hope she doesn’t repeat this negative narrative,” Salam Mustapha stated, questioning why she would downplay the contributions made towards her success.
Afua Asantewaa had earlier claimed in an interview that the only thing she received from the government was sore throat medicine from Dr Bawumia during her sing-a-thon attempt. However, Salam Mustapha insists that the records prove otherwise.
