Bawku Violence: Five-Month-Old Baby Killed in Brutal Attack

Tensions in Bawku escalated to a horrifying peak when a five-month-old baby girl was snatched from her mother and violently killed by assailants.

The attackers reportedly trailed the woman, who was out trading, mercilessly beat her, and ripped the child from her arms before committing the gruesome act.

This shocking incident adds to the rising death toll in Bawku and the Bolgatanga-Tamale highway corridor, where at least 55 lives have been lost since violence reignited in October 2024.

Despite heightened security efforts, armed assailants continue to strike, deepening fear and uncertainty among residents and travellers.
