Ghanaian musician and radio personality, Blakk Rasta has touted his latest track, Barbershop which includes a collaboration with Jamaican superstar Anthony B as the biggest song in the world presently.
In an interview with Amansan Krakye on Property FM, Blakk Rasta revealed that Anthony B approached him for a song remix due to its irresistible appeal.
According to Blakk Rasta, Barbershop taken from his album Salaga Soljah is currently making waves worldwide and is hailed as the ultimate Reggae masterpiece.
“When Anthony B heard my song he said what a tune, Blakk Rasta you’ve made a good tune and he did his verse which shows that this song is a wicked tune.
“Anthony B said as a reggae legend it’s been a long time since he heard such a song and so I was encouraged when he said the song was a great masterpiece.
“We went to Nigeria and some other places and everywhere we went they said Barber Shop but right now as it stands Barber Shop is the number one song in the whole world when it comes to reggae.
“The whole world and it’s not even Ghana alone or Africa i mean the biggest Reggae song in the world right now is Barber Shop which is Blakk Rasta featuring Anthony B”.
Anthony B’s real name is Keith Blair. He is a Jamaican DJ and a member of the Rastafari movement.
During his time in high school, Anthony B made his debut as a deejay for the local sound system, Shaggy Hi-Power.

In 1988, he formed friendships with reggae artists such as Determine, Mega Banton, Ricky General, and Terror Fabulous.
At that particular period in the reggae industry, singing “slack” songs about women was popular. However, Anthony B did not believe in degrading women and instead chose to write politically inclined songs.
He collaborated with Little Devon and released his first single, “The Living is Hard,” on the Wizard label in 1993. Anthony B worked with various producers before eventually teaming up with Richard Bell, resulting in hits like “Fire Pon Rome,” “Raid Di Barn,” “Rumour,” and “Repentance Time”.
In late 1997, he released the album Universal Struggle, followed by numerous albums including Seven Seals in 1999, Street Knowledge in 2003, Untouchable in 2004 (featuring collaborations with artists such as Wyclef Jean, Snoop Dogg, and Bone Crusher), Black Star and My Hope in 2005, and more recently, Life Over Death in 2008.
