Ghanaian musician and record producer Ball J has finally released the official music video for his single “Stand Up,” which originally dropped in April 2020. The visuals premiered on July 20, bringing new life to the powerful track.
With thought-provoking lyrics like “Jesus Christ on the cross, who can replace and feel his pain? None / Yeah he died and rose you can rewrite or you can believe it or not,” the song’s gospel influences are clear. The lyrics highlight themes of faith and redemption, making “Stand Up” resonate deeply with listeners who appreciate spiritually uplifting music.
Ball J, a pioneering figure in the Ghanaian music scene, was an early member of Skillions Records. He joined the label when founder Jayso decided to recruit new talent following the departure of T-Kube, a founding member, to the United Kingdom. Ball J’s time at Skillions Records was marked by significant contributions to the group’s success and the wider music community.
After his stint with Skillions Records, Ball J decided to carve his own path, focusing on his record label, Nu Afrika Records. Through this venture, he has continued to influence and shape the Ghanaian music industry, producing numerous hits like Guru’s “Lapaz Toyota.”
