The clash, which led to the suspension of the MPs, occurred amid rising tensions between Minority and Majority MPs during the vetting of presidential nominees.
The disagreement escalated, particularly after the suspension was handed down to the four MPs, triggering a significant debate on whether the vetting session should proceed as scheduled on January 31, 2025.
In the aftermath of the suspension, Minority MPs walked out of the session, leaving only Majority MPs to continue the vetting process.
This walkout left the vetting of key nominees, including that of MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, in limbo.
Ablakwa, who had already undergone several hours of questioning by the Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, faced further delays in the process, drawing attention to the disruption caused by the altercation.
