The former boss of the 3 Music Awards and NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Okaikoi Central Baba Sadiq has stated that the challenges facing the creative arts industry should not be attributed to Mark Okraku Mantey.
He believes that while many frustrated industry stakeholders have pointed fingers at Okraku Mantey for his perceived lack of action in enhancing the sector, he should not be held responsible.
According to him, the real accountability lies with Nana Akufo-Addo for the industry’s shortcomings.
He argues that while Mark Okraku Mantey can promote initiatives for the sector’s growth, it ultimately requires the leader’s dedication to implement meaningful developmental projects.
“There is no strong will to say we are looking to develop the creative industry or looking to enable the creative industry. These are the big vision, these are the bold ideas we are seeking to do.
“Those things are not there so in that instance Mark is just a figure and he can’t do anything.
“I notice that people want to pick on Mark but if you want to talk, talk to the President that he had 21 promises for us and did not deliver on his promise. Speak about some of these things and stop saying Mark is one of us and he went there and could not do anything,” he said on Hitz FM in an interview.
