In response to the recent raids on the properties of hip-hop mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs by federal authorities as part of a sex trafficking investigation, his attorney has issued a strong statement condemning the actions as an “excessive use of military-level force.”
The raids, which took place at Combs’ residences in Los Angeles and Miami, have sparked controversy and raised concerns about the nature of the operation.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Combs’ attorney, Aaron Dyer, called the search warrants an “unprecedented ambush” and a “witch hunt.”
Attorney Aaron Dyer, representing Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, expressed outrage at the tactics employed during the searches. Dyer emphasised that there was no justification for the aggressive show of force and the hostile treatment of Combs, his family members, and employees during the operation.
“Yesterday, there was a gross overuse of military-level force as search warrants were executed at Mr. Combs’ residences,” Dyer began.
“There is no excuse for the excessive show of force and hostility exhibited by authorities or the way his children and employees were treated. Mr. Combs was never detained but spoke to and cooperated with authorities.”
“Despite media speculation, neither Mr. Combs nor any of his family members have been arrested nor has their ability to travel been restricted in any way,” Dyer continued.
“This unprecedented ambush — paired with an advanced, coordinated media presence — leads to a premature rush to judgment of Mr. Combs and is nothing more than a witch hunt based on meritless accusations made in civil lawsuits.”
The attorney’s statement further asserted Combs’ innocence and his unwavering commitment to clearing his name amidst the allegations and investigations.
“There has been no finding of criminal or civil liability with any of these allegations,” Dyer added. “Mr. Combs is innocent and will continue to fight every single day to clear his name.”

Earlier on Tuesday, federal agents from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) conducted court-authorised searches at two properties belonging to Combs. These searches resulted in the seizure of several electronic devices.
The searches, which occurred in Los Angeles and Miami, were conducted as part of a federal sex trafficking investigation involving a prominent figure in the hip-hop and liquor industry, according to the sources.
HSI agents extensively combed through Combs’ mansions, collecting evidence as part of an ongoing investigation led by prosecutors from the Southern District of New York.
Despite the intense scrutiny and legal challenges faced by Combs in recent months, his legal team remains steadfast in their defence of his character and reputation.
The raids on Combs’ properties mark a significant escalation in the ongoing investigation into allegations of sexual abuse and misconduct levelled against the music mogul. The attorney’s response sheds light on the contentious nature of the searches and the perceived heavy-handedness of the authorities involved.
