Shatta Wale, the self-acclaimed Dancehall King of Ghana, has stirred up conversation on X (formerly Twitter) with his take on the growing success of Nigerian content creators Jarvis and Peller.
Known for his unapologetic comments on various social issues, Shatta Wale didn’t hold back when addressing critics of the young duo.

In a post that caught the attention of fans across social media, he shared: “A small girl and small boy dey make thousands of dollars online and you want to fight them. At your age you are not even shy, you no get Camry. Ppl deh go thru a lot ooo.”
His comment comes after Jarvis, who is presently in Ghana said in a viral video that during one of her strolls on the busy streets in Accra, she was surprised by the types of cars she encountered.
She pointed out that most of the vehicles she saw were Hondas, a stark contrast to the luxurious cars like Mercedes Benz and GLKs, which are more common on Nigerian roads. Her remarks seemed to take a subtle jab at Ghana, highlighting the differences between the neighbouring countries.
Her remark, along with her colleague Peller’s earlier statement suggesting that Shatta Wale would find it difficult to take a selfie with him upon his arrival in Ghana, attracted criticism from their Ghanaian peers.
In response, Wale defended them, questioning how their detractors are generating income at their age in comparison to the younger generation.
Shatta Wale’s commentary sparked conversations, particularly about how traditional industries and personalities in Africa are grappling with the rise of digital creators.
