Are You Happy with the State of the NPP? – Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah Challenges Akufo-Addo Over Party’s Decline

Former Angel Broadcasting Network (ABN) employee Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah has reflected on a past interaction with Akufo-Addo, where he questioned the former president about the state in which he was leaving the NPP ahead of the elections.

“You may recall that I recorded an audio message while I was with Angel FM, in which I asked him if he was happy with the state in which he was leaving the NPP ahead of the elections,” Afrifa-Mensah recalled on his new political show, For the Records.

He continued, “Your Excellency, I ask you again: now that you have left office, are you happy with the state of the NPP—the party you led into an election where it secured only 42% of the votes?

Are you truly satisfied with the condition of the NPP? We must learn to speak the truth. Were you content with the divided state of the NPP heading into the 2024 elections?”

Afrifa-Mensah’s sharp critique did not stop there. He accused Akufo-Addo of failing to address long-standing challenges within the NPP, despite these issues being clear from the party’s formation.

“The challenges the party has faced since its formation should have served as a lesson, but sadly, ex-President Akufo-Addo failed to learn from them,” he added.
