Apostle Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah, founder of the Philadelphia Church of Ghana, has publicly criticized some of his junior pastors for allegedly misappropriating church funds.
Speaking to his congregation on Sunday, the outspoken religious leader expressed his disappointment over what he described as self-serving actions by some of his subordinates.
“Some brothers have allotted a percentage of the church’s money for themselves,” he revealed, highlighting how funds meant for important church activities, such as television and radio broadcasts, were being diverted.
Apostle Adom Kyei-Duah recounted an instance where, during a church service, worshippers showered him with money as he stood preaching for four hours. However, he emphasized that none of the money went into his personal pocket.
“I lifted up two envelopes containing large sums of money and deposited them into the church’s accounts,” he explained.
Yet, despite his commitment to accountability, he alleged that one of his junior pastors at a branch took matters into his own hands, helping himself to a significant portion of the funds.
“A brother at one of our branches gifted himself 30% of the money. He deducted 30% for himself,” he said, implying that some pastors were exploiting their positions for financial gain.
Apostle Adom Kyei-Duah concluded his remarks by suggesting that his firm stance on transparency set him apart, stating, “Next time, if you meet Adom, you will salute me.”
