Angel Broadcasting Network (ABN), the operators of Angel 102.9 FM, has strongly condemned an attack on one of its female presenters, DJ Ohemaa Woyeje, describing the incident as unfortunate and regrettable.
In an official statement released on Friday, March 14, 2025, ABN management detailed the circumstances surrounding the attack, which occurred on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
“Unidentified men, one of whom was captured in a viral video wearing a mask, attempted to prevent the broadcaster from gaining access into the studio,” the statement read.
According to ABN, the act was carried out “reportedly on the instructions of the CEO, Mr. Vincent Opare-Larbi.”
The management expressed their strong disapproval, stating, “We condemn in no uncertain terms the unfortunate incident which happened within the precincts of the company.”
The company assured the public that the matter was being handled appropriately, emphasizing that the police had stepped in.
“The Ghana Police Service has commenced investigations into the incident, and management is cooperating with them to ensure the individuals involved are dealt with according to the laws of the country,” the statement affirmed.
Despite the incident, ABN reassured listeners and stakeholders that DJ Ohemaa Woyeje remains dedicated to her work with the network.
“We wish to state that DJ Ohemaa Woyeje remains committed to Angel Broadcasting Network and shall continue to deliver her services to the company and its numerous brands across the country,” the statement concluded.
The statement was signed by Dr. Kwaku Oteng, the founder and president of Angel Group.
