During a recent interview with Amansan Krakye on Property FM, Obibini once again took a jab at his long-standing rival Amerado.
This time, he dug his venomous fang deeper by asserting that Amerado is not a skilled rapper.
Obibini pointed out that Amerado’s first hit song, “Kwaku Ananse,” marked his transition into the rap genre, implying that it was not his true calling.
In a previous interview which ignited entertainment news in Ghana, Obibini was asked about Amerado’s potential as a singer where he suggested that singing might be his true field.
Given their history of engaging in lyrical warfare, it is no surprise that Obibini made these remarks during the interview.
“When I say my stuff and I go, I don’t really focus on things like that but I remember I was asked in an interview about being consistent as a rapper and rap music.
“And I said that I’ve realized that Amerado has found his field that he’s really good at and I’m glad for him so he should keep on.
“Then it’s also good that he has realized that the singing is his strength so he must leave the rap for Obibini for me to do it and then he’ll concentrate on this side.
“So that’s what basically I was saying about being a consistent rapper in that interview and I was just giving Amerado props unlike what others are reporting”.
In the 2023 Telecel Ghana Music Awards, Amerado emerged truiphed over a number of rappers such as Teephlow, Medikal, Strongman, and Lyrical Joe, to win the prestigious Best Rapper of the Year award.
Subsequently, he diversified his artistry by infusing singing into his music, leading him to secure the Best Highlife Song award at the 2024 TGMAs.
