Joe Frazier has expressed his disappointment with Amerado’s decision not to work with veteran Hiplife star Bariam Sydney.
During a radio interview with Amansan Krakye on Property FM in Cape Coast, Joe Frazier, known for his rhyming schemes in his songs, emphasized that it was a missed opportunity for Amerado to reject Sydney’s collaboration offer.
He pointed out that Sydney’s experience and numerous hit songs would have been beneficial for Amerado’s career.
“I’ve heard that one of the new artistes in the game refused to collaborate with Barima Sidney but I didn’t know that it was Amerado.
“If truly it was Amerado who did that then it doesn’t augur well because Barima Sidney is a big boy and he has gotten a lot of hit songs which Amerado doesn’t even come close to.
“Amerado is having 3 or 4 hit songs and Barima Sidney has multiple hits even before I started doing music so it’s even nice for such a legend to consider you for a verse.
“There are a lot of new artistes in the game so it’s even a privilege for you to have been chosen by such a veteran and you have to do it with some eagerness and love,” he opined.
“For you to think that he’s no more relevant and so he wants to use you to rekindle his dead career then I think unless it’s not the case but I don’t expect that from Amerado”.
Background
One of the pioneers of Hiplife, Barima Sydney revealed how Amerado snubbed him for collaboration during an interview with Giovani Caleb on 3FM on Thursday, July 11 and monitored by GhanaStreetJournal.
Sydney expressed his desire to reconnect with the music scene and regain his former glory by collaborating with one of the current generation’s hottest rappers.
His team suggested Amerado, known for hits like Kwaku Ananse, as a suitable candidate for this project.
The veteran rapper said despite reaching out to Amerado and requesting his instrumental for the collaboration, he received no response after a few days.
When he finally contacted Amerado, he was informed that the management had advised against the collaboration and suggested a remix of one of his older songs instead.
Disappointed by this turn of events, Sydney said he decided to move forward with the project and was introduced to King Paluta through Okyeame Kwame.
