Highlife singer Akwaboah made an appearance on the Delay show, which is hosted by Deloris Frimpong Manso, to discuss various topics related to his recent marriage and the criticism he received from some Ghanaians regarding his appearance.
During the show, Delay put the singer on the spot by asking him if he was aware of the comments made by Ghanaians about his looks, which were based on a viral video from his wedding.
The consensus of these comments was that people were concerned about Akwaboah’s health and suggested that he should undergo a kidney checkup to prevent any potential deterioration in his condition over the way he looked in recent times.
Akwaboah responded by stating that he would check up on his oesophagus, not his kidney, in an epic comeback aimed at those who meddle in other people’s affairs.
He mentioned that the observations people make are a direct result of the natural processes linked to growth and its obstacles.
He explained that being a public figure comes with numerous duties, such as looking after his children, wife, and other family members, which in turn puts pressure on him and may impact his appearance.
He said, “For all the times I’ve been posting pictures and videos, nobody noticed I was unwell until my wedding? Let’s be honest with ourselves. Growth comes with its challenges. I have children, a mother, siblings, and responsibilities. Life throws obstacles that we must overcome.”
Akwaboah ultimately stated that there were no issues with his health that required any medical examination.
