Veteran comedian- Bright Okpocha, whose stage name is Basketmouth has announced his separation from his wife Elsie Okpocha on Thursday.
The first crack of a possible rift in the family occurred after Basketmouth had shunned to commemorate their yearly wedding anniversary, which is typically in November despite marking Elsie’s 44th birthday anniversary around September.
As he made the announcement of their divorce on his verified social media, Basketmouth penned the following statement: “As much as it saddens me to put my personal life into the public space, this is an inevitable circumstance.
“After much deliberations, my wife and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage.
“As we move forward separately, we will continue to work together to give our beautiful children all the care, love, guidance and support they need.
“We humbly ask that you respect our privacy as we navigate through these times. Thank you,” he said.
