Ghanaian dancing duo, Afronitaa and her protege Abigail captivated the judges and audience with their audition on Britain’s Got Talent. The video of their performance, which took place in February, has now been shared on social media as a teaser for the upcoming season of BGT.
Donning traditional Kente-themed attire that showcased Ghanaian culture, the two dancers gracefully moved to the remix of Fuse ODG’s Azonto, featuring Wyclef.
Their synchronized routine and natural talent left the judges thrilled, prompting the entire audience to rise to their feet and applaud throughout their performance. The energy and precision of their dance routine reverberated through the entire auditorium.
Before they began dancing, the judges inquired about their background and origins. Afronitaa explained that Abigail was born deaf and mute, but she found solace in music as a means of self-expression.
She revealed that they communicate primarily through body language and gestures, as Abigail does not comprehend spoken language.
Afronitaa also mentioned that Abigail now has a hearing aid, allowing her to hear to some extent, albeit only in her left ear. Additionally, she shared that Abigail can perceive loud noises through vibrations in her chest.
Afronitaa expressed that participating in Britain’s Got Talent was Abigail’s dream, and they decided to sign up for this year’s competition to make it a reality.
Afronitaa, who joined the renowned DWP Academy at the age of 14 in 2018, recently announced her departure from the group. On the other hand, Abigail emerged victorious in Season 14 of TV3’s Talented Kidz.
