Actor Adjetey Anang disclosed that the film which earned him the lowest salary also resulted in his first award ever at the Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Award (AMVCA) for Best Actor.

He mentioned receiving GHC 4,000 for his performance in the movie, which unexpectedly led to significant recognition.

Anang explained that he agreed to the reduced payment due to his interest in the storyline and the potential rewards.

He shared this insight into his professional journey during a recent interview on 3FM, prompting varied discussions around the entertainment news landscape in the process.

“I’m talking of 2018. No, I’m not joking. You see it was one that I had believed in the content and that actually brought me my first AMVCA best actor award,” he said.

He discussed the challenges facing the film industry, including budget limitations and the need for high-quality content.

The actor, who rose to prominence to fame in the now defunct Things We Do For Love TV series, disclosed that he has frequently been involved in low budget films with significant substance.

“Well, lack of character development is an issue, but because of my experience, I’m able to handle it. It’s an issue, but there’s always a way out.

More so, the text when you realise there has not been more research because whatever we put out there is going to have implications for the audience,” he added.
