Rolf Harris, a convicted child molester, died at the age of 93, it has been reported. A registrar at Maidenhead Town Hall certified the scandalized TV host’s demise on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a statement from his family, Harris “died peacefully surrounded by family and friends and has now been laid to rest.”

A friend of Harris’ daughter was one of the victims, and she said that Harris assaulted her from the age of 13 to 19. Harris said that their relationship was mutually beneficial, and his friends and family stood behind him throughout the trial.

However, a jury found him guilty on all counts, and the court imposed a five-year, nine-month prison term on him. In May 2017, Harris received a license.

He was also exonerated of four separate sex offences that he had denied committing during the same month. Later that year, one of his twelve convictions for indecent assault was reversed by the Court of Appeal.

Successful television presenter, songwriter, and artist Harris had a 60-year career. He scored a series of successful songs in the 1960s and was best recognized for his work on children’s television programs including Rolf’s Cartoon Time and Animal Hospital.

Harris was born on March 30, 1930, to parents Agnes Margaret and Cromwell Harris, who had both immigrated from Cardiff, Wales, in Bassendean, a suburb of Perth, Western Australia.

He was raised in Perth’s Wembley. He was given the name Rolf Boldrewood in honour of his mother’s favourite Australian author, who wrote under that name.

In Australia, Harris was frequently referred to as “the boy from Bassendean” after he became famous. He once had a dog named Buster Fleabags as a young child; later, he authored a book (for the UK Quick Reads Initiative) about the dog.

Later, Harris earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Australia and a Diploma in Education from Claremont Teachers’ College (now Edith Cowan University). Harris attended Bassendean State School and Perth Modern School in Subiaco.

His oil self-portrait, one of 80 pieces (out of 200 submitted) approved to be shown at the Art Gallery of New South Wales as an entry in the 1947 Archibald Prize, was created while he was just 16 years old and a student at Perth Modern School.

For the 1948 Archibald Prize, he created a portrait of Sir James Mitchell, the Lieutenant Governor of Western Australia at the time. His landscape “On a May Morning, Guildford” won him the 1949 Claude Hotchin Prize for oil paintings.

Rolf Harris cause of death

According to a report from October 2022, Rolf Harris had neck cancer, was unable to speak, and had a feeding tube. He also needed attention around the clock. Harris passed away at his Bray home on May 10, 2023.
