Nana Romeo from Accra FM has explained why Stonebwoy won the Artiste of the Year award over King Promise at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards.
Expressing his opinion on the matter which has sparked controversy and garnered various comments on social media, Nana Romeo stated that King Promise has been disregarding traditional media for quite some time now.
According to Nana Romeo, both King Promise and Gyakie, who are prominent artists, refuse to give interviews on radio and TV, possibly because they believe they have outgrown these platforms or consider them irrelevant.
In a video shared by Tru News Report, Nana Romeo emphasized that although King Promise has a large and rapidly growing fanbase, he risks losing relevance if he continues to neglect traditional media and solely relies on social media.
The radio presenter highlighted the importance of traditional media in the lives of artists, even in the age of social media.
He advised King Promise to modify his approach to strengthen his brand and increase his chances of winning a top award in the future.
Meanwhile, King Promise broke his silence following his immense anticipation of winning the prestigious Artiste of the Year award at the TGMA which unfortunately turned into disappointment.
Despite his evident disappointment, he managed to gather the strength to convey a sincere and warm congratulatory message to Stonebwoy via social media, acknowledging his well-deserved second Artiste of the Year triumph in the history of the awards.
In a subsequent message, he expressed gratitude to his countless fans for their unwavering backing. He also took the chance to mention his upcoming album titled True To Self, set to be released in a matter of days.
