For nearly a decade, the family of the late Joseph Boakye Danquah Adu has waited for justice.
The former Abuakwa North MP was brutally murdered in his home in February 2016, yet the case remains unresolved. His wife, Ivy Heward-Mills, has now spoken out, urging Parliament to finally take action.
In an open letter addressed to Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin, Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga, Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, and all Members of Parliament, she questioned their silence on the matter.
She pointed to the swift handling of the murder of British MP Jo Cox in 2016, which saw her killer convicted and sentenced within five months.

By contrast, nine years have passed since her husband’s murder, yet justice remains elusive.
“Good morning, Parliament of Ghana,” she began, addressing the legislative body directly. “Respectfully, you have been silent.”
She highlighted the urgency of the matter, reminding Parliament that while time has passed, it is not too late to act.
“9 years is a long time but let it not be said that 10 years went by and Parliament looked on unperturbed,” she wrote, calling for a resolution that would bring closure to her family.
Joseph Boakye Danquah Adu, born on July 2, 1965, was a Ghanaian politician and chartered accountant affiliated with the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He represented the Abuakwa North constituency in Parliament from 2005 to 2009 and again from 2013 until his untimely death in 2016.
On February 9, 2016, Danquah Adu was tragically murdered at his residence in Shiashie, Accra. He was found with multiple stab wounds, leading to his death.
Following the incident, Daniel Asiedu, also known as “Sexy Don Don,” was arrested and charged with the murder. Asiedu initially confessed to the crime, claiming he acted during a robbery attempt. However, he later retracted his confession, alleging coercion by authorities.
