Sarkodie has literally shown his true party colours now by throwing his weight behind presidential aspirant-hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kennedy Agyapong during a gathering held probably in the US.
Per the content of a video making rounds, the revered rapper said Kennedy Agyapong is the right person to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in breaking the eight, as the slogan of the party denotes. According to Sarkodie, most of his songs are even inspired by the maverick NPP firebrand, citing his ‘More Money, More Problem’ song as one of them.
He spoke fondly of the honourable minister and espoused reasons why he was the best person to assume the highest office in the land. Watch all that he said in the video shared below;
Sarkodie engaged in political overtures with the NPP during the lead-up to the 2016 elections, as evidenced by the adoption of his song “New Day” by the party.
The track, which featured Kuami Eugene, was titled “Happy Day.” In the song, Sarkodie expressed his strong criticism of the “Dumsor” phenomenon that occurred a few years prior, as well as his complaints about inflation. He further opined that if a political party has successfully addressed these issues, it should be entrusted with the mandate to continue doing so.
“When there was dumsor and inflation, I talked about it. But if today I have uninterrupted electricity and my children will get the chance to go to school for free, then I have nothing to say but to ask Nana to continue (toaso),” he raps in the song.
